We have been testing a new enhancement to the TelePole WR to change the LOW range to HIGH range detector at ~2,500 mR/h and HIGH range to LOW range detector at ~2000 mR/h. As you currently know the device will switch from LOW Range to HIGH range detector at 800 mR/h and LOW to HIGH at 600 mR/h. Two NPP sites are currently testing this feature.
We believe this will help the users’ confidence level with the device if the instrument is used for posting high radiation areas.
Note: The F2 calibration factor will now be between 800 mR/h to 1500 mR/h.

I like the idea, it is a better place to switch.
It is anoying when the instrument hangs at 800 because the rate change is not enough to switch it. I would think having it at a higher level would let it switch faster. We'll have to see.
